Help Us Build Schools for Afghan Widows and Orphans

Over 3 decades of war and conflicts in Afghanistan devastated people and especially the Afghan widows and orphans have been suffering from poverty and are in critical need of our attention. Widow are on the streets begging for small changes and kids are carrying wheelbarrows trying to earn small changes for their families. We brought clothes, shoes, food, medicine, school supplies, toys, and more to 3,000 Afghans through various small projects, but it was NOT the permanent solution for them.

While these gifts gave them instant gratification and quick fix to their problems , the demand for same gifts grew even bigger. This is why we started building schools in Afghanistan. We have started the first school back in Oct. 2009 as a pilot study with a GREAT SUCCESS, and now we plan to establish 49 more schools.

Yes, this is our first vocational school in Afghanistan. It does not look anything like fancy schools in America, does it? But I am really proud to say that people’s lives are changing through our program. You will be very surprised to find out how we are helping these widows and orphans.

To help these WIDOWS and orphans, we decided to build VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS, to teach and train them the essential skills to survive. We can keep bringing them shoes, food, and clothes, but these are a one time deal and they are temporary solutions. Plus, there are limits to how much and what we can deliver to them every day, every month, or every year. However, if we educate them the necessary skills and knowledge, then they can become self-sufficient.

Education Is The Key

However, we will NOT spend millions of dollars building one big fancy school. Instead,we will build many SATELLITE SCHOOLS all around Afghanistan to effectively reach out to the most needed widows and orphans in different parts of the nation as fast as possible.

What We Teach

Literacy class: We teach how to read and write Pashto.
Simple Math: How to perform simple math.
Hygiene class: We teach the importance of hygiene and ho
Sewing class: We teach how to sew and embroider to help them generate immediate income for their family
Business 101: Teach them the basics of running a sewing business at home. (We will build business signs with them and prepare them to start making money immediately for their family.)

What Benefits Will Students Receive From the Course?

Upon graduation, each student will receive:

A FIRST AID KIT for their family.
A brand new SEWING MACHINE along with a SEWING KIT to immediately start working.
Graduates will be able to READ and WRITE Pashto and know how to perform simple MATH.
Graduates will also receive beautiful CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION.
All graduates will have complete business kits to start their home business immediately.
We are planning to add an online STORE on our website to introduce students’ completed items for sale to help the graduates (widows & orphans) earn approximately $60 a month to support their families.

How Much Does It Cost To Graduate A Student?

It costs us $542 to graduate a student and it includes the following:

This is an Urgent temporary Rescue Mission. Since August 2021, HEMEFund put its effort into EVACUATING 107 Afghans from Afghanistan. Of 107, 85 decided to resettle in Brazil.
